Curing Time

Curing is dependent on the temperature. The sealer is usually touchdry in approximately 30 minutes at 25ºC.
Protect the sealed surface from rain, water and sprinkler systems for a minimum of 6 hours. Accessible to foot traffic after 24 hours and vehicle traffic after a minimum of 5 days.

Estimating Data

Finseal Glow PS covers 3-5M²/Litre over 1 coat.

Theoretical coverage for a single coat application is approx. 60-100m² per 20 litre drum.

The properties of the substrate such as porosity and profile will influence the coverage rate and number of coats required.

Surface Preparation

Areas to be treated must be clean, dry, free from oil, grease and surface curing compounds.

Freshly Laid Concrete

After surface finishing the concrete must be free of bleed water and sufficiently set to be firm and able to be walked on without marking or damaging the surface.

For Unsealed New and Existing Concrete

Remove all dirt, grease, oil, paint or curing compounds with Finseal Paveclean / TyreClean or suitable general-purpose cleaner or stripper. Thoroughly wash and pressure clean surface.

A light acid etch prior to application is recommended to ensure unreacted laitance is removed prior to applying to new stamped or exposed aggregate concrete.

Pressure clean surface at minimum 2000psi to prepare for sealing. Allow surface to dry prior to application of the sealer.

Previously Sealed Concrete

Ensure surface is thoroughly prepared and dirt, grease, staining, oils and contaminants are removed with Fincare Paveclean / TyreClean followed by thorough scrubbing or pressure washing at minimum of 2000psi.

Assess any existing sealer is sound, free of delamination and surface whitening. Undertake a cross hatch pull off test to a small area to assess adhesion of existing coating for further sealing.

If the existing sealer is unsuitable it is recommended that this be completely stripped off prior to new sealer being applied.

If sound, the existing sealer should be reactivated via application of Finseal Glow 100 solvent and agitated with a solvent resistant broom. Allow to dry before commencing sealing.

Application Method

  • Slowly stir the material until thoroughly mixed to ensure an even look and sealing properties.
  • Apply sealer with solvent resistant spray unit, lambswool roller or
  • brush at sufficient rate to achieve consistent coverage in even coats.
  • Pour material into a tray for application by roller or brush. If spraying,
  • ensure to back roll or broom out any puddles or uneven application
  • areas.
  • A single coat of Finseal Glow PS shall be applied as a primer prior to top coat of selected product from the Finseal Glow range.
  • When applying subsequent Finseal Glow top coat, allow the recommended curing time and then apply the second coat in the opposite direction to the primer without thinning.

Finseal Glow PS is not suitable for application to resurfaced concrete.

New Freshly Laid Concrete

Apply Finseal Glow PS – Primer / Sealer and allow to dry. If two coats of Finseal Glow PS are desired, then allow minimum of 2 hours between coats and apply at opposite direction to the first.

Application of suitable top coat should not be undertaken prior to 14 days of concrete placement.

For Unsealed New and Existing Concrete

Apply Finseal Glow PS over prepared concrete and leave to dry for minimum 2 hours before applying selected top coat.
