Application Instructions

Application

Roller, brush, spray. Mix well before use. Preco Bondbreaker can be applied by spray, brush or roller at the rate of 1 litre per 5 to 10 square metres. Application rates will vary depending on climatic conditions and differing absorbency levels.

Step 1 – seal new and existing concrete ground slab “working bases” with a generous coat of Preco Bondbreaker. A second coat may be necessary to ensure uniformly low porosity. Coat any dry spots to ensure uniformity.

Note: because concrete strengths and porosities vary, it is critically important that this step is completed with great care to ensure the proper performance of Preco Bondbreaker.

Step 2 – apply a uniform coating of Preco Bondbreaker to both horizontal and vertical surfaces and allow to dry a minimum of 2 hours before placement of reinforcing bars.

Before pouring concrete check for any “dry” areas and reapply if necessary. If in doubt use the water droplet test method and reapply where necessary. Avoid “ponding” and ensure puddles are mopped up prior to pouring concrete to avoid interference with surface quality. Excess Preco Bondbreaker may cause “honeycomb” surface laitance due to an excess of surface lime being consumed.

It is recommended that concrete be poured within 24 hours of the application of Preco Bondbreaker being applied. If subjected to heavy rain, a fresh application on Preco Bondbreaker must be applied.

Note: For multi-panel stack applications it is essential that each panel is cured prior to repeating Step 2. A suitable curing compound for this application is Concure A99 applied at an application rate of 5m²/litre.
