Vexcolt VX HydroMaster

VX HydroMaster is a hydrophilic waterstop that expands upon contact with water to create a pressure-tight seal in concrete construction joints, both horizontal and vertical. It comes in various profiles like VX HydroMaster RP0HSS-0220, RP3HSS-0725, RP2HSS-1020, and is made from a combination of expanding hydrophilic material and non-expanding chloroprene rubber. The co-extruded design directs expansion across the joint for optimal sealing.

VX HydroMaster changes from dark blue to light blue when expanded, allowing for easy visual inspection. It includes a delay coating to prevent premature expansion, and most profiles feature a self-adhesive backing for quicker, easier installation. VX HydroMaster can shrink back when dry and re-expand with moisture, maintaining functionality through repeated wet-dry cycles.

Shelf Life

VX HydroMaster remains usable for 3 years from manufacturing. Store in a cool, dry, dark area away from moisture and sunlight.

Limitations

• Only intended for in-situ concrete applications.
• Not suitable for masonry or blockwork.
• Not suitable for suspended slabs or expansion joints.
• Requires minimum 100 mm concrete cover.
• Expansion rate may reduce in salt or contaminated water.
• Not recommended where significant structural movement occurs.
