One-component, hydro swelling mastic for sealing smooth and rough construction joints

Available Options

VX Liquid Master is a caulk-applied, one-component, hydro-swelling mastic designed for sealing smooth and rough construction joints and pipe penetrations in wet or underwater applications. It is a grey, polyurethane-based, elastic, hydro-swelling mastic supplied in cartridges and aluminium sausages, suitable for sealing expansion joints and areas around pipe penetrations.

VX Liquid Master cures and swells in the presence of moisture. Curing time depends on temperature and humidity, with higher temperature and relative humidity accelerating the process. The product will typically become firm within 24–36 hours, and its long-term performance is not affected by the curing time.

Advantages

  • Due to its special formulation, VX Liquid Master can be applied to wet surfaces or in underwater applications.
  • Solvent-free.
  • VX Liquid Master adheres to concrete, PVC, HDPE, steel, fiberglass, etc.
  • The excellent filling and adhesion properties of the product provide a first-line filling of cracks and voids, even on lightly humid, smooth, or rough surfaces.
  • In contact with water, VX Liquid Master will expand to about 350% of its original volume.
  • Complies with AS/NZ 4020—suitable for use in contact with potable water.
  • Flexible system, which adapts to the irregular surface of the substrate.
  • Easy application with a standard caulking gun.
  • Durable: will exceed the construction’s life.
  • Good chemical resistance.
  • Resistant to petroleum products, mineral and vegetable oils, and greases.

Field of Application

  • Sealing joints of in-situ cast concrete in wet and underwater applications.
  • Sealing joints between precast segments in wet or underwater applications (e.g. manholes, box culverts, cable ducts and pipes).
  • Sealing of locks between sheet piles.
